Trunk of Treat Performance

Trunk or Treat 2014 has come and gone. The weather was horrible, but the fellowship was wonderful. What a blessing it was for the team to perform for the kids. The program that was planned was quickly changed to accommodate the new set-up. The puppeteers had originally planned for a black-light performance, but when the Trunk or Treat was moved indoors to our Family Life Building, plans changed, and lights could not be turned out. God was in control and truly blessed them with a wonderful and uplifting program. Here are some pictures for you...

Busy past 3 weeks

Wow, what an awesome God we serve!!! Have we ever been busy! Isn't that what serving is all about? I can't begin to tell you how overwhelmingly blessed I am feeling this morning. During my quiet time this morning, God allowed me to reflect on the past 3 weeks of this puppet ministry. Where He leads, we follow.
Let me begin by starting with the youth trip to Washington, DC. I, unfortunately, was not able to attend. But, what these kids accomplished is just amazing. Seeds for the Kingdom were planted all around. They did an amazing performance on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and led a VBS for the remainder of the week at a local church. If you kindly look back, you will find a post with lots of pictures of their week.

Then, as they traveled home, I began my travels over seas to Camp Gideon in Estonia, to help begin a puppet ministry there. I was fortunate enough to take with me 37 adopted puppets that people from First Broad Street UMC (where I work part time as the church secretary and accompanied their team to Estonia) and Sunnyside Baptist(where I attend and worship) graciously sent with me. And, a very special thanks also to Rachel Cole for sending more than 20 small hand puppets that I was able to present to the Sunbeam Center in Johvi, Estonia, that ministers to children with disabilities.

Here are some pictures of the kids at Camp Gideon having fun with their performance
A very special thanks also to Anne Thurman of Oak Grove Baptist Church (and my boss at FBSUMC) for the beautiful banner for Camp Gideon's Puppet Ministry

I think they caught on very well, don't you?
These puppets are going to be shared with some of the other local churches in Estonia to aid in church story time and to take out to the smaller towns for evangelism. We talked about how easy they are to use to convey the message to children and even adults. It was a wonderful blessing to be able to share ideas with the leaders on how to further use this type of ministry.

And then last night, we helped kick off Kingsport Fun Fest by participating in the Fun Fest Parade. We had a blast!! The kids also took turns passing out tracts and candy and performing on the church bus. There was even room for me to use a puppet!! It was hot and fun!!

What an awesome way to spend the past 3 weeks!! God is good! All the time!

Sharing God's love at the Lincoln Memorial

I sure am missing these goobers but am so excited of their witness this morning in Washington, DC. I heard the heat was pretty bad, but they endured and were able to witness through puppets and drama on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. How awesome is that!?! I know God is truly working in the lives of these kids. It's evident in their testimony and lives. What an awesome God we serve!! Next on the agenda, VBS in McLean, Virginia. They will be performing and teaching VBS like they did at Sunnyside earlier in the month. Please join me in prayer as these kids and leaders share Jesus. Pray for open doors, open hearts, and open ears so that all may hear the Good News. Pray that God will lead, guide, and direct them in all they do this week so that lives may be changed. Also, please pray for their safety as they travel.
Here are some pictures thanks to Jayme!!!

Just look at those happy faces! Speaks volumes don't you think?
I just love these kids, and I know you would too if you ever have the chance!!

Hopefully, they'll remember to send me more pictures to share!

Abortion Alternativies & TLC in Elizabethton, TN

GLO Puppet Ministry had the privilege and opportunity to perform this afternoon at Abortions Alternatives & TLC in Elizabethton, TN. Angie, the founder, of the organization was holding a fund raiser to kick-off preparations for their Summer Food Program. And, I am happy to say, she was able to raise their goal of $5000.00 today!!!The funds are used to help feed the children during the summer months that might not have enough to eat. This is a wonderful ministry that God is truly blessing. If you ever need speaker, she is the lady to call. What stories she has to share! She has made it her mission to help these mothers who are at a crossroads in their lives and now is expanding that love to the school age children as well. The love and compassion that this center shows to everyone is amazing! We were able to witness first hand, how God is working in these young mothers lives. We were the ones today receiving a blessing!
Anyway, TLC was having a huge yard sale with inflatables and free food for anyone who stopped by and the GLO Puppet Ministry was able to perform for about an hour. We were so excited that the puppeteers were willing to give up a beautiful Saturday to bring God's Word and smiles to another community. Thank you, Angie, for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful cause! May God continue to bless you and your ministry!!!

As you can tell, we had a wonderful Saturday afternoon, sharing God's love with others through Puppets!

Tammy
