VBS Decorating
Hey everyone! Thought you might like to see some set preparations for the puppet presentations during our ARROW ISLAND VBS! We start Sunday night 6-8:45 through Friday night. If you have children 4 years old through 8th grade, we would love to have them join us at Sunnyside Baptist Church!!!
Now take in mind, it's still a work in progress. I'll post final pictures tomorrow!! But it's mostly made of all paper. Lots of cardboard, bulletin board paper, plastic tablecloths, and coffee filters were used. We were even able to use some of our greenery from the coral reef. I'm always amazed at how God blesses the creative minds in this puppet ministry! If you have any questions, please ask. We're always happy to share instruction.

VBS Preparations are underway for the rainforest!
Everyone has been busy busy busy preparing for VBS. The rainforest is coming along nicely. I thought you might like to see some behind the scenes pictures. Some of the girls have ended up with more paint on themselves than on the props!
These are made from coffee filters and spray painted with glow in the dark paints. The lily pads are made from cardboard.
The orange, yellow, and blue things will be used to make other flowers.
These are my favorites!! Toilet bowl plungers with Hawaiian leis from the dollar tree. We had a few boas we used also.
The mushrooms are coming along nicely. And the poster flower in the background is really nice. We put a pot scrubber from the dollar tree in the middle.
The vines are being made from craft paper and rolled tightly. I've heard complaints of blisters forming on some hands.
This Ikea box will soon be transformed into a hut covered in bamboo.
This Ikea box will become a waterfall with the styrofoam being carved into rocks and painted.
I can't wait to see the final stage. I think our puppets are going to love this stage set!

Crafting for VBS and the Rainforest set
Well, the stomach bug has hit the GLO Puppet team, but it hasn't stopped VBS preparations. Those lucky enough to have not been taken by the "bug" had a very productive night of crafting flowers for the Rainforest.
Here are some pictures of our flower making skills. The girls are very talented and had a wonderful time crafting.
Desiree and Jerica are working on a palm tree trunk made from cutting the bottoms out of brown lunch bags and scrunching them onto a pool noodle. It's looking good, girls!
Hannah, Rebecca, and Bonnie are making flower blooms with q-tips inserted into styrofoam balls that we will spray paint for color later. These are going to be beautiful, ladies!
Rebecca couldn't decide whether to work with the coffee filter flowers or the q-tip ones. Decisions, decisions!!
Hannah and Rebecca had the joy of cutting the lunch bag bottoms open for the palm trees. We are going to call them "Scissor Hands"
We are so excited to see the finished stage set. I'll have more posts for you later!
Please lift the kids in prayer as you read this for speedy recoveries and those who haven't been infected to stay well!

Sharing God's Love through Ayudantes de Dios!!
I thought you might like to see pictures of Darthula Baptist Church's puppet performance in Nicarauga this week. We used two twin black flat sheets from Wal-mart for $4 each. I sewed a straight seam the length of one side so that they could insert PVC pipe when they got there. Very quick and easy.
God is so good. He always provides! The mission team wasn't really sure what they would be needing, but the sheets worked awesome!
I'll post a link to their church's website so you can follow as the week progresses. I know the puppets were a HUGE hit with the kids! They are having a very blessed time of VBS with these Ayudantes de Dios!
I ask that you lift this group in your prayers that God will keep them safe and use them in mighty ways this week. I pray that hearts, doors, and ears are open to hear the Good News. GLO puppet ministry is truly honored to be a part of helping them take this ministry to this part of the world and share God's love with others!
Here's the link I promised you.

Prop making Saturday
We had a very successful day of prop making for Sunday's performance. We had to make some signs for the "pettin zoo" and "git ur gear."
We made the Pinterest famous pennants from burlap and painted the letters. I didn't get a picture of the font we used. I'll post more pictures as the projects are completed.
It seems like the "To Do List" just keeps getting longer. It looks like we will be working hard this week to get everything finished for December 1!!
Most of our time was spent on constructing a John Deer tractor for the farm.
Beth cemented foam boards together to make the tires. I think we all had a headache by the end!
We used Lowe's packing boxes to construct the tractor. And then we cut the back open so that a puppeteer can perform in the tractor. Discussion now is whether to spray paint it, or wrap it in green bulletin board paper. The jury is still out.
So much to do and so little time. But God always gives us what we need when we need it. We do covet your prayers for the performance.
Looking to further the Kingdom,
Tammy
