Youth Night at Sunnyside Baptist Church

Sorry to be so late in posting, but it's been rather busy at my house lately. Anyway, I really wanted to share the awesome job the GLO team did during our youth evening worship service 2 weeks ago. The kids worked extremely hard and led a very spirit filled service. The Lord has blessed these kids with talent and I'm so excited and happy they have a desire to share it with others to give God glory! They are on fire for Him now and He is truly blessing them. We've been able to see 4 salvation decisions among the GLO team this year. God is so good, all the time!!! They have committed to reading their Bibles daily and spending time in His word and in doing so, the Kingdom and their relationships  with Him are growing! They have been sharing verses that have spoken to them through the week with us on Sunday afternoons before practice. And, in so doing, they are finding more courage to speak and witness to others. I have found a new verse for myself that I am clinging to right now. I find great comfort in these verses, especially as I've been preparing for my own mission trip this summer to Estonia. Colossians 4:3-5 New International Version (NIV)

"3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity." This verse speaks volumes. We can't miss any opportunities to share with others what an awesome God we serve and to share His love with others!!

Sharing God's Love at Upward Devotions on Saturday

GLO Puppet Ministry was truly blessed and honored to be able to share half-time devotions with Sunnyside's Upward Ministry this past Saturday. We had around 30 puppeteers and 6 adult leaders that got to spend Saturday morning and afternoon in the gym sharing God's love with the basketball players and cheerleaders. What a blessing it was for us!!!

As you can see, it was a day well spent! As I had mentioned from the previous post, it was after this day together, that many of the puppeteers were visited from the "Stomach Bug".  Everyone seems to be recovering and able to go back to school. But, please remember them in your prayers for speedy recoveries and those not visited by  "The Bug" did not receive a knock on the door at their homes.

Crafting for VBS and the Rainforest set

Well, the stomach bug has hit the GLO Puppet team, but it hasn't stopped VBS preparations. Those lucky enough to have not been taken by the "bug" had a very productive night of crafting flowers for the Rainforest.

Here are some pictures of our flower making skills. The girls are very talented and had a wonderful time crafting.

Desiree and Jerica are working on a palm tree trunk made from cutting the bottoms out of brown lunch bags and scrunching them onto a pool noodle. It's looking good, girls!

Hannah, Rebecca, and Bonnie are making flower blooms with q-tips inserted into styrofoam balls that we will spray paint for color later. These are going to be beautiful, ladies!

Rebecca couldn't decide whether to work with the coffee filter flowers or the q-tip ones. Decisions, decisions!!

Hannah and Rebecca had the joy of cutting the lunch bag bottoms open for the palm trees. We are going to call them "Scissor Hands"

We are so excited to see the finished stage set. I'll have more posts for you later!
